The Battle of Senas Part 3

A Man is standing in the front of a Marine Amphibious Assault Vehicle or (MAAV). He takes off his helmet, lets the wind blow through his short black hair. The man spits into the water and dons his helmet again. He then proceeds to walk back inside. This man is Clone Commander Quakes.

Quakes is the commanding officer of the 8th Marine Corps. Today his corps are leading the assault on the beaches of the right half of Sok. Due to the cities immense size of about 50 square miles, the attack is being done from all corners of the peninsula on which Sok lies by different corps. This beach attack is a joint assault consisting of the 4th and 8th Marine Corps.

“The beaches are with in sight, all battleships FIRE!,” Quakes ordered. Seconds later a hail of projectiles and turbo laser fire is sent into the beach, pounding half the defenses into the ground.

Minutes later they had traveled to with in a mile of the beaches and the greatly anticipated landing. Quakes was prepared. “Let’s give our boys,” he then proceeds to shout “all Landers, fire your smoke grenades on my command! Fire them NOW!” A roar of pops as the smoke grenades went flying, spewing their gaseous tan smoke. As the pods hit the ground they pour out the rest of their contents and turning miles of beach into a huge puffy tan cloud.

Quakes knew that this would still not be enough. “Jet Troopers! Deploy!” He snapped.

“Yes Sir,” the Jet Trooper lieutenant said, ”all right boys you heard the boss, lets give’em Hell.” A number of men rocketed from the boats, and flew towards the beaches. They dropped hundreds of High Explosive Compact Devices or (HECD)s while dodging the incoming fire. The explosives blast through barriers and defenses as the Jet Troopers fly back to the boats.

“Good job lieutenant” Quakes complements the man.

“Thanks sir, and we’ve returned with minimal casualties sir,” the lieutenant responds.

“Now then lieutenant, get your packs refilled and prepare for the landing.”

“Yes Sir.”

The enemy forces on the beaches are panicking now. They fire wildly into the smoke. One artillery shell just barely missing the side of Quakes’ vehicle. Now the MAAVs have started to hit sand. “Sir” The clone driver announces “we’ve hit sand initiating treads now.” Then a siren screeches. “We’re at the drop off. Good luck sir. Doors dropping in Three,” Quakes pulls out a remote detonator switch, “Two,” He flips the cap off, “One, doors are dropp’en.” The doors drop as Quakes hits the switch.

BOOM! A great string of explosions rip up the beaches, shredding the barriers and incinerating defense installations. Another voice hits Quakes’ comlink channel personally “Hey Quakes, it looks like those ARC Troopers did their jobs.” It was Clone Commander Dan, leader of the 4th Marine Corps.

“Good to know Dan, meet up with me at the point between the 4th and 9th ok”

“Ok then, sounds good, see you there,” and with that they severed the transmission.

“Men of the 9th, are you ready to fight?” Quakes shouts to all his men.

“Yes Sir!” the men roar. These words echoing along the beach as thousands of them shout for all to hear.

“Then Charge!” Quakes shouted as he departed for battle with thousands of men yelling and cheering from the 8th charged along side him.
