He was falling to his death, so Andis had to think quickly. He pulled out his Beskad Saber, imbued the blade with the force, and thrust it into the wall, slowing his descent by the time he reached the bottom. He was still going too fast, so he kicked his boot spikes into it as well. They sparked as they bit into the stone, and almost stopped his descent. Instead, it cut through the roof of the cavern; there was nothing to slow his fall now. He hit the ground. Crack. "Ahhhhh!" His left leg shattered against a rocky outcropping.

He lay there on the ground until, looking up at the roof of the dark cavern. His grappling gun didn't have the range to get him out of this one. He was probably going to die down here, it didn't matter; but at least Starla was safe.

---------

Starla sat against the wall grieving. She couldn't believe Andis was dead because of her, and that she'd never see him again. A moment later, her spine tingled and she felt a glimmer of hope. She could feel his presence in the Force - he was hurt, but alive. Now she had to get to him.

She tried slashing her lightsaber at the massive wall, to no avail - it was lightsaber-proof - she'd have to find another way in. Then she had an idea from a story Andis had told her about Alagani Pass. She loved his stories, and she could curl up by a campfire and listen to him for hours.

He had fought at the Battle of Alagani Pass three years ago. Andis was on Komali fighting in the Komali Civil War. He and his comrades were outnumbered 20 to 1 and the enemy was closing in on them. As the enemy moved in on his unit, they came up with a last ditch plan. They drilled holes at angles in the side of the valley and packed them full of explosives.

When the enemy was directly under them, they detonated it, sending massive chunks of stone barreling at the enemy, crushing them. It was enough to turn the tide of the battle and turned the war in their favor.

Starla would make sure she would hear more of Andis' stories. Then she ran back to the ship as fast as she could.

---------

Andis pushed himself up against the outcropping that had just shattered his leg. The pain was agonizing; he had to do something about that. He pulled a small kit out of his bag, got out a small syringe and pushed it into his leg. It injected an anesthetic into his lower leg, it was a relief from the pain.

He put his hand on it; his left tibia and fibula were broken, he'd have to try and fix it. Andis had learned a bit about Force Healing, not much but it would do for now. He began moving the fragments back into place so the healing could begin.

---------

Starla had made it to the ship and began tearing through crate after crate until she found what she was looking for: high-yield explosives and a very long grapple line for cave exploration. With all she needed, she returned to the wall that separated them.

She ignited her lightsaber and began making long narrow thrusts at angles next to the wall, it may be lightsaber proof, but the adjacent walls weren't. After it was done, she began cramming each hole full of explosives.

After she had crawled through the tunnel a third time, she was out of the blast range. Starla pulled out the detonator and pressed the button. Boom! The explosion tore the wall out and sent it speeding forward into the hallway. She crawled back in and looked and looked down the shaft, "Andis! You're alive!"

His voice echoed up, "I'm from Clan Meyer! We don't die that easily!"

She laughed, "Good to know, be there shortly." She hooked up the grapple line and began her descent.

---------

Andis kept watch at the line that had just fallen down, all he had to do now was wait for her to appear. "My leg's shattered, can't move far."

Starla's knee-high boots hit the ground, she looked at him, his matte black Mandalorian armor was like a black dot in the light grey stone of the cavern. He took off his helmet and grinned, "How you get through?"

She smiled back, so relieved that he was alive. She kissed him then replied, "Alagani Pass."

"Alagani Pass," he laughed, "I'm glad you listened to that story. I'll have to tell you more, they may come in handy."

She'd like that, "Sounds like fun, now let me see your leg." She gently pressed her hands on Andis' leg, and began her Force Healing.

"Vor'e, cya'rika," he said to her in the same silky low voice he used when she healed him on the day they met. He leaned in and whispered into her hair, "Our little expedition has just begun."
